FLEISCHMANN 414401 - Steam locomotive BR 54, DB, era III

NOT AVAILABLE

The G 3/4 H class of the Bavarian State Railways were built between 1919 and 1923. They shared with the older G 3/4 N the superheated steam engine mechanism, the water preheater, the large and impressive boiler and the Adam type bearing axle. The locomotive was reclassified by the DRG as BR 54.15-17 and was at the time the most powerful in Europe with the 1'C wheel arrangement, and despite this also the most "saving" of all the previous ones. All 225 examples built went to the DRG and were classified under the running numbers 54 1501-1725. Most of the locomotives survived the Second World War. Conceived for freight trains, it was also used in passenger service. The last examples were in service at the Nuremberg depot Rbf Double dome variant
