French Hussars Italeri 1/72 cod. 6008 Description The term "hussar" identifies the prototype of the light cavalry soldier and derives from the Hungarian "huszar". The most famous hussar units were the French regiments of the Napoleonic period. Used for reconnaissance, liaison and screen duties to mask the movements of the Emperor's army corps, as during the advance that led to the outflanking of the Austrian general Mack at Ulm in 1805. The soldiers in the kit are represented with the uniform of the 1st Hussars employed in Jena in 1806 and are characterized by the elaborate Hungarian uniform, the sabretache, sabers and carbine
