French tank used during the Second World War. Developed in the early 1920s, it entered production in 1934 to become one of the main vehicles supplied to the French army. Known as one of the best-armored battle tanks of its time, the B1 Bis was developed by modifying the previous B1 tank to cope with the increasingly tense situation that led to the outbreak of the war. With a 75 mm mobile gun, an updated engine and reinforced armor, it could finally stand up to the tanks of the Wehrmacht during the German invasion of May 1940.
