Autocannone Italiano 3Ro with 90/53 90mm anti-aircraft gun
The Italian truck 3Ro was a vehicle with a 5-cylinder diesel engine from the Ro truck line (Ro - 2 cylinders and Ro-Ro - 3 cylinders). Both civilian and military versions were produced between 1938 and 1947. It was the main heavy truck of the Royal Italian Army during World War II, serving in the Balkans, North Africa and the Eastern Front. Approximately 9500 military vehicles were produced in many variations: general service cargo, troop transport, tank transporter, horse transporter, gas tank and more. Some of the trucks were fitted with 100mm 100/17 howitzer or 90/53 90mm anti-aircraft gun and became self-propelled artillery platforms. A large number of trucks were captured by the German Wehrmacht after the Italian Armistice of 8 September 1943. Several captured vehicles also served in the Allied Army, in the heavy section of the LRDG forces.
